South African artist, Tondi Rams, gets fans excited with the release of his debut gospel single “Thank You”. Known for his love songs, Tondi shifts gears with his new single, a song with a central focus on expressing gratitude to God. To usher in a new season in his life, he collaborates with his best friend of over 20 years, Kingdmusic, on his uplifting Christian contemporary/gospel pop/R&B song.
Inspired by God's love and faithfulness, Tondi shares, "This song is testimony of God's goodness in my life and how grateful I am to Him for all He is, has done, is doing, and is still going to do! I have experienced so much of His goodness through out my life, and if anything, this year alone has been filled with so many testimonies of how I’ve seen God’s favour, provision, and blessings in my life!”
Four years ago, Kingdmusic released his debut album “Seasons” in which he featured Tondi Rams on the song “Forever You Are Good.” The two best friends are back at it again with this highly anticipated collaboration.
Growing up in a Christina home, with both parents being pastors, Tondi Rams grew up in the church, which has had a major influence in his music. Speaking on venturing into the gospel music scene, he says “Gospel music has always been a huge part of my life, and above and beyond that, God has always been an important part of my life and music for all these years. For the longest time my parents, some of my friends, and some people I know would ask me, “When are you going to sing gospel?”, and that always bothered me because the love/Inspirational music I make is not separate from gospel music, simply because it’s coming from the same heart and value system. I would always echo that I will do it when the time is right, and now I can ecstatically say, ‘That time has finally come!’”
No stranger to the Christian/Gospel music scene, Tondi has written and co- written over 20 Christian-released songs. One of the songs he wrote, “Worry About Nothing” by Kingdmusic, has amassed over 1 million streams on Spotify alone. He also wrote “Crazy”, a song featured on We Will Worship’s debut album YHWH, and went on to be covered by other artists and bands, ultimately becoming an anthem sung in churches around SA and internationally.
The SAMA Award winner, two-time Crown Gospel Award, and multi-award- winning Christian artist, Kingdmusic, who has garnered millions of streams on Spotify alone, adds his flair, vocal prowess, and expression of gratitude to God in this inspirational song. The two artists believe this song will encourage listeners to be cognisant of God’s goodness in their lives and express their gratitude to Him through this sing-along, upbeat, feel-good song. “Thank You” will be available on all major streaming platforms on Friday, 27 October 2023.
