Will Gray drops the latest instalment in his Psalms project: Psalm 16 (The Path of Life).
The Psalms project Singer Will Gray is a visionary London-based songwriter grappling with the timeless truths of the Psalms. His latest endeavour, in collaboration with the gifted musician Toby Elliott, explores the sacred verses of Psalm 16, musically reimagining and setting the ancient text into a contemporary worship song.
Toby Elliott brings a unique edge to the next instalment of Will Gray's Psalms Project. Psalm 16 (The Path of Life) fuses Paul Simon-inspired rhythms with classic CCM sounds to create an inspiring musical offering to help you connect with the words of Psalm 16 -today.
On collaborating with Tobi, Gray says, "One of the aims of the Psalms project is to be collaborative, and having had Toby sing on several other Psalms I thought it would be great to get him writing one. Toby’s got a real depth of musical knowledge and a unique diversity in his musical taste which I was looking forward to exploring with him. The outcome I think is a unique take on a CCM worship song and we’re excited for people to hear it."
Building on the success of the widely cherished Psalm 15, this song continues to weave together strong scriptural lyrics & heart captivating melodies. While firmly rooted in the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) sphere, the composition draws upon eclectic influences, channelling the spirit of honoured writers like Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. This infusion of diverse inspirations imparts a distinctive and refreshing edge to the music.
