The 55th GMA Dove Awards 2024 - See full winners list + highlights

The results are in for the 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards! Hosted by returning host Tauren Wells, the event took place on Tuesday night, October 1st, 2024, to a sold-out, live audience in Nashville, Tennessee. Here are the highlights:

Awards

Jonathan Smith led the night with seven awards, including Producer of the Year. Phil Wickham earned four Doves, taking home Worship Album of the Year. Gospel music legend CeCe Winans was also a standout, winning three awards, including Artist of the Year. The coveted Song of the Year was awarded to “Holy Forever,” recognizing songwriters Chris Tomlin, Brian Johnson, Jenn Johnson, Jason Ingram, and Phil Wickham.

Brandon Lake, Chandler Moore, and Jason Ingram each received three awards, while Forrest Frank, who won two, was named New Artist of the Year.

Performances

CeCe Winans kicked off the show with an energetic rendition of “That’s My King,” accompanied by a 24-person choir.

Tauren Wells surprised the audience with special guests DAVIES and Skillet’s John Cooper during his lively performance of “Take It All Back.”

Forrest Frank delivered a spirited mash-up of “No Longer Bound/GOOD DAY,” featuring members from The Choir Room.

A standout moment of the evening was a multilingual performance of “Holy Forever,” introduced by beloved worship leader Darlene Zschech, showcasing Brian and Jenn Johnson, Miel San Marcos, and Gabriel Guedes.

In a heartfelt and worshipful moment, host Tauren Wells addressed the losses faced both at home and globally, including within the Christian and Gospel music community. He played a personal audio message from Mandisa, who passed away earlier this year, reminding everyone of the importance of expressing love to those around us. “I know many of you in the room have received messages of support and love like this,” Wells shared. “[Mandisa] will be deeply missed, along with all the friends and family we’ve lost this year. It’s a sobering reminder that our words hold immense power. Your words can be among the most valuable things you leave behind. Let’s remember to reach out to those we cherish.” This poignant moment was followed by a moving performance of “My Tribute (To God Be The Glory)” by Natalie Grant.

Gospel music icons Bill and Gloria Gaither received the Jackie Patillo Leadership Award. The legendary songwriters, known for classics like “Because He Lives,” “He Touched Me,” and “There’s Something About That Name,” were met with a standing ovation from the audience. In accepting the award, Bill Gaither encouraged young songwriters to keep creating, saying, “There’s a hole in the heart of this country. We’ve lost our song along the way. Only God can fill that void.” The GMA was proud to present Bill and Gloria Gaither with the Jackie Patillo Leadership Award.

The 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards are produced by the Gospel Music Association. Jackie Patillo and Justin Fratt serve as showrunners and executive producers, alongside Curtis Stoneberger and Paul Wright as producers. Russell E. Hall returns as director, Michael Nolan as scriptwriter, and Scott Moore and Go Live Productions as production manager. The 55th Annual GMA Dove Awards are presented in partnership with Cantinas Arts Foundation, whose mission is to support artists who share their talent and faith through Arts and Media.
