Tasha has never been one to shy away from coming out of the walls of her genre and spread the gospel wherever sees fit. Her new album ‘Royalty: Live At The Ryman’ debuted at #1 on the Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart this week and she's back with a surprise announcement with none other than fellow Grammy Award winner Ciara. They teamed up for a duet on Tasha's song 'In Spite of Me" from her latest project.
Ciara weighed in on the suppose collaboration:
“Tasha is one of the strongest voices in gospel music and we’ve always been huge fans of hers in our house,” she said of Cobbs Leonard. “In times like these, I am super thrilled to be part of a song filled with messages of hope and inspiration that can be shared with the world. With God’s love and grace, nothing in life is insurmountable. It’s truly a special moment.”
Leonard was also very excited as she calls Ciara a friend:
“Ciara is an icon. A role model. A wife, mother, and a lover of God,” she states. “Her musical versatility is undeniable, and I am so glad she joined me on this song to tell people about the unconditional love of God.”
Tasha previously worked with Trinidadian-American rapper, Nicki Minaj on her hit +single I'm Getting Ready, taken from the album Heart. Passion. Pursuit.
