Six Content Ideas To Keep You Consistent #ArtistEdition

Consistency is key if you are to advance in any endeavour. We realise how intimidating it may be at first to be consistent in your social media presence and how easy it is to run out of ideas. With a strong social media plan and schedule, falling into a routine will be easy.

This is why we are sharing 5 content ideas that could help in building a content calendar to help boost your social media presence in 2023.

1. Promotional posts:

Of course, promoting your music is the first content idea! There are a variety of approaches you can use to know what works best for you and your audience. A straightforward announcement with a clear call to action (pre-save), a line or two from the project, a teaser clip, and a fun trivia about how the song was birthed are some examples.

2. Get-to-know-you posts:

Fans love to see what artists do when they’re not on a stage. It may be a good idea to share behind-the-scenes photos, videos, and stories that show what you do when it seems no one is watching. Live Q&A sessions with fans, what you are working on, struggles you face, things that matter to you, and more. While there are no rules, these posts are relatable and authentic and make fans connect organically. It is important to add that you should only share as you feel comfortable, no one needs to know every single thing! Always evaluate as necessary.

3. Themed posts and challenges:

There are some trends and hashtags that already exist. Taking advantage of those hashtags and trends could help boost engagement. Tags like #throwbackthursday #photooftheday, #captionthis #newmusicfriday #songoftheday and many more.

4. Thought-provoking posts:

Sharing your thoughts on what inspires you, what you believe, and what you stand for could help attract an audience of like minds. Be careful however not to share your opinion on topics that may be too controversial except to pool opinions and spark relevant conversations. Remember your why and keep that top-of-mind always.

5. Inspirational Posts:

You can never go wrong with a motivational post as everyone wants to be inspired. These types of posts drive attraction to your social media channels because of how shareable they are.

6. Lyric content, song backstories:

Content about your songs themselves: how it came to be, how that one line blessed you and others, and so on

Remember to take as many videos are pictures as you can. The key to always having content is always making content. You may not need that video at that moment but just having it in your camera roll could go a long way!
