Award season came back with a bang this year and the Billboard Awards are one to look out for. The Billboard Music Awards® (BBMAs) honors the hottest names in music today. Unique among music awards shows, honorees are selected by performance on the Billboard Charts, widely considered to be the ultimate authority in the music industry. Consistently ranked as one of the strongest music shows of the year, the show celebrates music’s greatest achievements, solidifying the BBMAs as an annual, live entertainment tentpole franchise.
Host Sean “Diddy” Combs was joined by today’s Billboard chart-topping artists for exhilarating performances, empowering moments, and historic wins. Eight on-air awards were given out, in addition to the earlier non-broadcast categories. West has won top Gospel artist and Gospel song for the last three years, and this is the second time he received the Top Gospel Album award. However, this is the first time he’s won the Christian artist categories.
