Jonathan McReynolds releases new single- Your World + wins big at the Stellars 2022

He's got the whole world in His hands, Heaven and earth will pass away but not His Word. Jonathan returns with African American spiritual “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands,” released in the 1920s. Since his last project he earned three Stellars, it's single "Grace" became a record fourth #1 Billboard airplay single in a row and "Movin' On" featuring Mali Music garnered his first Grammy win and fourth nomination. Always endeavoring to provide excitement for the genre, he and Mali released a live joint EP "Jonny X Mali: Live in LA" and buzzworthy tour in the second half of 2021.

“Your World” reminds the listener of God’s sovereignty—it’s a bop, intentionally upbeat, and happy. The song was written to help people lift the weights that hold them down. Known for bridging the gap between contemporary church music and the music of the past, Jonathan has included African American spiritual texts and the influences of Marvin Gaye. “Your World” will have listeners up moving and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation"

Johnathan reflects below:

“This song reflects my evolution and growth. I am not the same person I was when I wrote my first album. Now, I am secure enough to take more risks and remove any limits to my creativity. It’s God’s World, and we are just living in it!”

McReynolds’ rendition of the century-old jingle takes the sound into a way more contemporary vibe, keeping the message about God but also adding lyrics that can also be applied to a loved one. “This is Your World / I’m just living in it / I’m just walking through it / knowing that You’re with me,” he croons effortlessly, keeping the receiver of that message interchangeable based on the perspective. Still, as he finishes up and adds, “This is Your World / I’m just praying through it / knowing that you listen,” it’s clear to see he’s referring to the Man Above.

He also weighed in on his upcoming album:

"This whole new album is challenging my tendency to lean on my own strength and understanding. It’s God’s world though; we’re just living in"

Congratulations go out to Jonathan McReynolds and Mali Music who received three awards for their collaboration, Jonny x Mali: Live in L.A. EP, including Duo/Chorus Group of the Year, Contemporary Duo/Chorus Group of the Year, and Special Event Album of the Year at the Stellar Awards 2022
