How To Stay Inspired As An Artist

We are already in the second quarter of the year and the question on our lips is "how did we get here so quickly?" This time of the year either meets dwindling morales or some progress in yearly goals. For those who fall into the first category, this is for you. Now is the perfect time for a re-evaluation. Ask yourself "What can I do to stay inspired to have my strongest quarter yet?"

Celebrate your wins

Regardless of how big or small your achievements have been so far, whether you wrote just one line of a song, or successfully released an entire album; you must celebrate your wins. You made it to the end of the first quarter of 2023 and that's a big deal.

Unlearn and relearn

Learn from your mistakes and pay attention to what worked for you and what did not. Be ready to unlearn the bad habits and patterns and aim for continuous improvement. Think to yourself, 'What can I do differently this time?' Note down your mistakes and plan the changes you'll make this quarter and actively plan to meet them.

Pause, breathe, go again

There are so many deterrents to your mental health as an artist: at the start of your creative process, before and even after the release of a project. This is why it is so important to guard your mind. Take a deep breath and restrategize. You can’t pour out of an empty cup so create an environment that helps you thrive mentally.

Increase accountability

Life can get in the way and you may lose motivation at some point in the next quarter, that is why it is important to make a plan and hold yourself accountable to reach your set goals. Use a planner or get an accountability partner if you have to. You won’t get closer to the life you envision if you don’t take consistent, daily action!

Remember why you started and where you’re headed; think of how great it will be to get there, then keep going!

Your vision is meant only for you to understand. Some people may agree with it, but they still won't see it how you see it. There may be days when you feel discouraged, unnoticed, and unsure of the next step to take; the journey may get hard and sometimes it may feel like there's nothing new to be said. On those days remember that YOUR WORK MATTERS! The world needs your gift, your voice, and the music you make. That next song could be the one that makes the difference in someone's life so keep going!

Here's to your best quarter yet! May you set goals and meet them, write songs and release them - may your music transcend barriers, meet new ears, and bless lives! Remember, we are here to support you if you ever need it.
