Today marks another significant milestone in the Harmony and Healing Project as they unveil the release of their second song, a poignant addition to an album dedicated to enhancing mental health awareness and support.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life, mental health challenges have become increasingly prevalent, particularly among the youth. As a pediatrician deeply invested in the well-being of the younger generation, Ebi Oginni witnessed firsthand the struggles many children face in expressing their emotions and seeking help. It's not uncommon for them to grapple with internal battles, unsure of how to communicate their feelings to parents or peers.
"In my work as a pediatrician, I see kids that are struggling with their mental health who find it hard to open up to their parents or friends to ask for help.
This is a song I wrote to encourage open communication between our kids and the people around them, inviting them to share their burdens, and reminding them to never forget that they are not alone, especially in those seasons of growth where they want to explore their independence. It’s a reminder that we are not meant to carry our burdens alone and it’s ok to feel our feelings and cry if we need to. It's a reminder that no matter how old our children get, our arms are open, and they can always talk to us. I’m hoping this song helps to break those barriers so they feel empowered to open up and get help the help they need." - Ebi Oginni
The debut of her latest song represents more than just a musical endeavor; it embodies a beacon of hope and resilience. Crafted to break down barriers and foster open dialogue, this song aims to empower individuals to embrace vulnerability and reach out for the support they need. It serves as a gentle reminder that it's okay not to be okay, and that strength lies in acknowledging emotions and seeking assistance when necessary.
Produced by the talented Emmanuel Awipi and penned collaboratively by Sheree Wright, and Brad Guldemond, this song is a testament to the power of collective creativity in driving positive change. Through heartfelt lyrics and evocative melodies, they aspire to cultivate a community where individuals feel heard, understood, and supported on their journey toward mental well-being.
As we continue to navigate the complexities of life, let us all remember that we are not alone in our struggles. Together, through music and empathy, we can foster a culture of compassion and understanding, where every voice is valued, and every heart is embraced.
