Since the release of her last project ‘As In Heaven’ the EP, listeners have been at the edge of their seats awaiting her next release and this new track does not disappoint. In a world where people spend lifetimes trying to find a place to fit in, this new single ‘I Belong’ is a melodious mnemonic of the home we have in Jesus as well as a powerful reminder of the sufficiency we find in Him. Featuring UK artistes Michael Oyo and Grace Tena who love God authentically, this track could not have been better portrayed as they paint, quite vividly, what it means to belong to God.
The track is opened with a warm ballad of guitar strings accompanied by Efua’s enthralling yet affirming voice, describing quite melodiously the peace and refuge that we find in Christ. Followed by Micheal Oyo’s and Grace Tena’s distinct vocals, as the track progresses our ears are filled with such angelic harmonies till we are transported right into the arms of the Creator. ‘I Belong’ is a perfect blend of varying sounds and that song we didn’t know we needed but suddenly can’t stop playing.
According to Efua, “ With life’s ups and downs and a temporary sense of belonging, it’s important to know we have an eternal rest in His presence where there is freedom. We all need that reassuring reminder from time to time that God is a place we can call home; the place where we truly belong.’
